Colorado Wedding Photographer | Vail Engagement

Pursuing this whole professional photographer thing has been amazing on so many levels. I feel blessed and lucky and thankful on a daily basis. The thing that has meant the most, that has touched my heart and made me feel so full of gratitude, has been the support and encouragement I’ve received from my friends. I don’t think there’s anything more awesome, or more humbling, than when one of your dearest friends says, “I want you to be my wedding photographer. I won’t have anyone other than you.”

And speaking of dearest friends, I’d like to introduce you to one of the best friends a girl could ask for: Ashley. We met through ex-boyfriends (haha, because that’s basically how I made all of my best friends… which is weird, but true) and we ended up as coworkers, carpool buddies, running partners, and girls’ weekend warriors. Seriously, there was a stretch there where we pretty much spent 12 hours a day together. We’d meet for a morning run at 5, carpool to work at 6:30, spend lunch together, and then spend an hour in rush hour traffic together driving home. It’s kind of a miracle that she didn’t get super sick of me and subtly hint at breaking up.

She’s one of the warmest, most genuine people I know, so seeing her giddy over this new boy she had met, watching her fall in love, hearing of her engagement… it all made me so excited for her. She’s just one of those people that deserves all the happiness in the world. And it seems to me that she has it. Nick is so right for her and so good to her, and his unassuming, low-key demeanor doesn’t hide how much he loves her. I love these two love birds and cannot wait to photograph their wedding this July in Jackson Hole.

But for now, I want to share a few pics from their engagement session in Vail. There was beer. There was sunshine. There was a gorgeous mountain backdrop. There were incredible fall colors. There was this adorably fun couple, a little nervous about an official photo shoot. And there is just so much happy radiating from these photographs.
