So We Take Pictures

We take pictures so we can remember.  So we are reminded.  To turn fleeting moments into memories.  And there is not a time in your life that will be more of a blur (i.e. a sleep-deprived haze) than those first few months at home with baby.

I use soft, neutral colors and natural posing so the focus is on baby (and not on a giant pink bow on her head!). Tiny little pants, cute headbands, and handmade bonnets are provided, as well as an assortment of simple, rustic props.  However, I am happy to incorporate a special item or family heirloom too.  I love layers and textures and subtle patterns; nothing loud or bold. My goal is for your photos to be timelessly beautiful, worthy of hanging on your walls many years from now.

Session fees are $300 and cover our time planning, my session prep guide, the use of my studio space and professional lighting, as well as the photography session itself (which lasts 2-3 hours). Collections of high resolution digital files and fine art prints start at $250, and the average total investment is $550-$950.  You can purchase a few favorite images or the entire gallery – it’s totally up to you, but you don’t have to decide until after you’ve seen your photos.  That way, you’re investing in photos you know you’ll love and cherish for years to come.

Newborn photography sessions take place at my in-home studio in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona and last between 2 and 3 hours.  Parents and siblings are welcome, however the main focus of the photos is baby.  Ideally, we photograph baby during the first 5-15 days of life because we want to capture all that adorable newness and sweet baby squoosh. And because newborn babies are more tolerant of posing and tend to sleep more soundly – who doesn’t love sleepy babies?!?
